About Me

My Life

My name is Jada Turner. I am a junior at Illinois State University pursuing a degree in Marketing and Fashion Merchandising.

While my academics are a my main focus and important to me, being involved on campus is very important to me as well. I am the Student Body Vice President, a mentor in multiple organizations and a social media personal in a few student organizations. Being involved on campus as taught me many skills such as teamwork and leadership.

Achievements

One of my most recent and biggest accomplishment is an event I created called the Career closet. This is an event that is designed to give college students free professional business clothing to help prepare for internship fairs, career fairs, job interviews and any other professional event. As a business major I know first hand how business clothing can be very expensive and costly. This event is designed to help take some of the stress off students when preparing for different professional event and to eliminate some of the financial burdens off of students. All the clothing that is given away at the Career Closet is donated from faculty, staff and alumni.

Career Goals

My ultimate career goal is to own a clothing store that is franchised all over the US that serves as an affordable luxury brand. My store will be inclusive to all having a wide variety. of sizes and offering a section specifically for tall people. The fashion is one of the most waste full industries and one thing I would like to do is offer the option for customers to recycle their old clothing to get a percentage off their new items.

As I work towards my career goals I currently work at Tj Maxx and intern at Royal and Reese to help be gain lots of retail experience and experience running a clothing business.
